Please give us some feedback on how we could improve our sustainability initiatives
Our Sustainability Promise
At Stirling Highland Hotel, we recognise the influence and impact that our business has on the environment and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to sustainability and to minimising our environmental footprint, while enhancing the wellbeing of our guests, employees and local communities. We are supported in this journey by our sustainability accreditation partner, Green Tourism.
Supporting Our Community
We take pride in supporting our local community through meaningful initiatives. We have partnered with Project Search, offering work placements—and, in some cases, permanent employment—to local young people with additional needs. Our team actively participates in local clean-up efforts to help maintain and protect our surroundings. We are also committed to charitable giving, having raised funds for Team Luke, Macmillan Cancer Support, Children in Need, and Comic Relief.
To enhance our guests’ experience, we provide information on local attractions and events at reception, ensuring they can make the most of their visit to Stirling. Additionally, our unique rooftop observatory offers the opportunity to explore the night sky, with guided tours available to book for an unforgettable experience.
Environmental Initiatives
At The Stirling Highland Hotel, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact through a range of sustainability initiatives. Carbon emissions are regularly monitored, with targets and achievements shared to drive continuous improvement. We actively track and measure waste production, setting reduction goals while ensuring waste is separated for recycling.
To minimise plastic use, we have replaced single-use shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel bottles with reusable alternatives, switched from plastic to wooden key cards, and now use paper straws instead of plastic. Additionally, waste oil is collected and recycled, and lights automatically turn off when not in use to conserve energy. Through these efforts, we are dedicated to creating a more sustainable and responsible hospitality experience.
Our Team
Guest Support
We are committed to corporate social responsibility and ensuring an inclusive, sustainable stay for our guests. Our CSR poster is on display to highlight our initiatives, and we offer accessible rooms alongside a Deaf Care check sheet to support guests with hearing impairments.
To reduce our environmental impact, we encourage guests to participate in our “Skip a Clean” initiative, which rewards them for opting out of daily room cleaning, and we promote towel reuse to minimise water and energy consumption. For eco-friendly travel, we provide public transport and local cycle route information on our website, making it easier for guests to explore Stirling sustainably.
Your Feedback
We value guest feedback and input in driving innovative ideas to reduce the environmental impact of our hotel. We encourage our guests to send feedback to each venue, sharing their ideas and suggestions for reducing waste, conserving resources, and promoting sustainable practices. By working together with our guests, we can continue to build a sustainability program that provides guests with the flexibility and freedom to stay in a way that aligns with their values and preferences, while also contributing to a more sustainable future.
